Berlin based musician Cesar Queruz studied in Havana Cuba with Esteban Campuzano at the ISA (Istituto Superior de Arte) in 1998 and completed his bachelor's degree in classical guitar at the Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia with Carlos Posada in 2004. In the same year he travelled to Munich, Germany where he did a postgraduate course at the Richard Strauss Conservatoire with Susanne Schoeppe and a Masters degree in 2005 also in classical guitar at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich with Barbara Probst-Polasek.
Between 2001-2004, Cesar won several competitions in Colombia, including the Jovenes Músicos Javerianos three consecutive times, the Soloist Competition of the Javeriana University Orchestra, and the Luis Angel Arango Library Jóvenes Intérpretes.
In 2010, while living in London, Cesar began theorbo studies with Jakob Lindberg and David Miller, and later, in Berlin, with Matthew Jones. In 2018 Cesar finished his master’s degree in baroque orchestral performance on the theorbo and the baroque guitar with Björn Colell at the UdK (Universität der Künste) in Berlin.
Cesar has been performing in different concert platforms in Europe, Canada, South America, Australia and South Korea, such as in London's Handel Festival, Kings Place, Spitafields Music Festival, Fora do Lugar in Portugal, the Luis Angel Arango Library in Bogotá Colombia, les Azuriales Opera festival in France, Natalia Satz Theatre in Moscow, Wilderness Festival in Oxford, with orchestras such as the Colombian Youth Orchestra (soloist), the London Early Opera, the Estonian Philarmonic Chamber Choir, Capella Cracoviensis in Poland, the Potsdam Chamber Orchestra, Solisten Ensemble Kaleidoskop, Eroica Berlin, and with conductors Laurence Cummings, Daniel Reus, Bridget Cunningham, and Andrew Laurence-King among others. He has also collaborated with artists Jason Orange and Damon Albarn (Blur/Gorillaz).
